Initiatives for safety and environment

At our refineries and complexes, operation, maintenance and safety staffs are working in collaboration to ensure safety and stable operation day and night. We place a top priority on safety, as seen in inspection using cutting-edge technology, risk assessment to eliminate a latent risk, and exhaustive observation with our finely-honed senses. We are also promoting safety activities together with contractors to prevent accidents. Furthermore, we possess disaster-prevention equipment including the latest fire engines, and our own private fire-fighting team that conducts training programs constantly in order to properly carry out fire-preventative operations, in case of emergency.

Idemitsu aim to create "environmentally friendly refineries and plants free from pollution", and "refineries and plants welcomed by the local citizens." To further reduce CO2 emissions, we are advancing energy efficiency in our business activities.
